Four people were injured in a car accident in the 400 block of Smokey Hollow Road late Saturady afternoon. 5 Pike County departments responded and all 4 injured parties were transported to Pike Arena Hospital. No other details are available at this time.

Fires at Van Rob not their only woes in 2013
The recent fires at Van Rob have not been their only woes as a company in 2013. The Chillicothe Gazette is reporting that according to Occupational Health and Safety Administration online records in March, that the plant was assessed $22,000 in penalties that have since been adjusted to $15,400 via an informal settlement due to penalties that involved seven “serious” violations. Most of these violations centered around forklifts in such areas as inspection and regular operator evaluation. Pike County Grand Jury Indictments
Paul G. Francis, 45, of Piketon, was indicted on one count of illegal manufacture of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony, one count of illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony, and one count of possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. He was arrested on February 10, when Sheriff’s deputies found what is commonly known as a “one-pot cook lab” at his residence on Long Fork Road.

2 Touring Cyclists Injured In Pike County Saturday
2 cyclists traveling in the bike tour from Columbus to Portsmouth, were injured in 2 separate incidents while traveling through Pike County Saturday Morning. One incident occurred on SR 104 by Lake White and the other on SR 335 near Omega. Neither incident involved vehicles and both people were transported to Adena Pike Medical Center, with non-life threatening injuries.
Multiple Fire Departments Battle Structure Blaze On Beaver Pike
6 Pike County Fire Departments were called in to battle a structure fire in the 2100 Block of Beaver Pike, late Saturday afternoon. All occupants in the structure got out unharmed according to scanner traffic and fire departments currently are still on scene attmepting to get the fire under control.

Fire Crews respond to possible Structure Fire on Jasper Road Sunday Morning
Elm Grove Township and Piketon Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in the 1200 block of Jasper Road late Sunday Morning. Scanner traffic indicated that there was a small fire but under control upon arrival by the Pike County Sheriff Dept and crews stayed on sight for around an hour to make sure it was under wraps. No other details are available at this time.
